I like and respect Ed Ruscha’s work – to see potential sequences of images that he found pleasurable in his daily life, taking the time to put it all together and sharing his experience, but also for the sake of his own enjoyment.

As spring came during lockdown 2020 I couldn’t help but notice, like everyone else, all the gorgeous wildflowers and weeds with beautiful flowers erupting on my daily walk near my home. I wanted to know what each plant was called (another interesting task for this project – fact checking!), so I downloaded a plant identifier app, Picture This (©2020). I knew the Masters module was going to expand our practice using different methods and approaches beyond just photo taking so with this app, the use of inDesign and the platform ISSUU, I set to work collating a digital mock up pamphlet of ‘Twenty Seven Plants of Walthamstow’.
