Hidden
Hidden Labour which has been brought to the fore by the pandemic and this body of work is an investigation into my own internal struggles I felt in balancing the needs of myself as a full-time mother against the needs of my family during this time. The resulting images are constructed to blend reality and fiction with the aim of exploring the intersection between the private domestic space and the public world. I have drawn on domestic themes and inserted them into the public spaces to claim these public domains as my own from both a temporal and temporary aspect. The aim is to challenge the societal expectations that are placed on women and girls with regards to their hidden labour.
